PhotoFamilia
About the project
I worked on the ongoing development and technical improvement of PhotoFamilia – a complex e-commerce project built with WordPress and WooCommerce.
The website was not developed from scratch. The main objective was to improve the existing system step by step, extend its functionality, resolve complex technical issues and make the platform easier to use for both customers and administrators.
One of the project stages included a planned visual redesign. The page presentation, selected content sections, responsive behaviour and customer journey were improved across desktop and mobile devices.
A significant part of the work involved custom development. Dedicated plugins and MU-plugins were created to extend the standard WooCommerce functionality and support the company’s specific business processes.
The project included:
- A planned redesign of selected pages and key sections
- Responsive presentation for desktop, tablet and mobile
- Custom WordPress plugins and MU-plugins
- Extension of the standard WooCommerce logic
- A custom order processing and editing system
- Administrative tools for managing order data
- Automated file handling and ZIP archive generation
- Dynamic product logic and additional product options
- Shopping cart, checkout and purchasing UX improvements
- Multilingual interface and RTL layout improvements
- Complex UI, JavaScript and frontend issue fixes
- Technical support and ongoing feature development
The PhotoFamilia project required more than frontend development. It also involved working with internal WooCommerce logic, order structures, custom module interactions and an already established technical ecosystem.
The result – a more modern, responsive and user-friendly e-commerce platform with advanced order logic, custom administrative tools and functionality adapted to the company’s real business processes.
